Cape Coast Cape Coast, named by the Portuguese Cabo Corso, is an easygoing fishing town south of Ghana and sits south to the Gulf of Guinea. Cape Coast was founded by the Oguaa natives until the Swedes, the Dutch and the English established their own settlements in the 17th century for the discovery of gold, honey, and African goods. In 1957 Ghana regained their national independence. |
